Additional Information: Bulldozer blades or arms that surpass 14 feet in width (measured perpendicular to the trailer’s wheels) must be disconnected to prevent posing a safety risk. Blades under 14 feet broad may stay connected if the bulldozer is securely fastened. Items that can be readily removed, such as buckets, blades, or counterweights, must be disconnected but still carried with the load. If the blade can be disconnected, it may travel on the same trailer as the bulldozer, as long as the permit specifies this. Wide loads need that side mirrors be extended enough to guarantee that the driver’s vision is not obscured.
